As we have entered 2020 and are just a few days away from announcing our upcoming programs for the new year, we thought we'd take a minute or two to look back and recap on the events of the past year—a necessary activity to gain a holistic perspective on some of the moments that have brought NomuHub to where it is today and to reminisce on the successful impact that the NomuHub family has achieved together.
How did the year go for you and for us? What were our successes & failures? What did we learn that we can implement in the coming year?
As a company, we find it essential to ask ourselves the same questions that any individual going into a new year would; to evaluate one's progress and encourage further growth. So lets explore the answers to these questions together.
Our impact statistics:
NomuHub in 2019 witnessed 537 volunteers from 28 different countries came together for 15 programs organized over the span of 40 weeks in 4 different destinations to clock in a total of 18,795 volunteering hours, all for one common goal: traveling with a purpose and creating positive impact.
15 classrooms were built and 20 classrooms were renovated in various primary & secondary schools
The overall outcome that we have achieved with such programs is that a learning-conducive environment, with the required facilities, has been provided to the overpopulated schools in challenged communities in order to enable and empower every deserving young mind to be supported in their education.
Our hard-working volunteers laboured tirelessly through all kinds of weather conditions and learned all kinds of construction skills to achieve this result.

Over 10,000 patients received screenings, consultations, health awareness talks, treatments and medications
The medical programs targeted a variety of common diseases that debilitate the lives of Zanzibar's community including hypertension, diabetes, malnutrition, anemia, common ear and eye infections, dermatitis, fungal infections, asthma and other airway diseases, gastritis, osteoarthritis, etc.
Our dedicated teams of volunteers—made up of students, interns, residents and even licensed healthcare professionals from the different fields of general medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology, nutrition, physiotherapy and pharmacy—worked closely with a group of local doctors from our partner NGO to achieve the goal of delivering effective and efficient medical aid and services to the rural communities of Zanzibar that are in need or lack appropriate and accessible medical facilities in their living vicinity.

3 acres of land were planted with edible crops using the permaculture method
Permaculture focuses on encouraging a sustainable agricultural design system for food production that has the potential to enhance a community's livelihood in the long run.
Our enthusiastic volunteers did everything from shaping soil to catch and store water, slashing tall grass to prepare the land for planting holes and banana circles to planting and watering seeds, adding organic matter to the plantations and even getting their hands busy in building fencing structures from wood.

More than 25,000 benefited directly and indirectly from our projects
Our biggest achievements:
- The proud moment of reaching a milestone of hosting 1,000 travelers since our inception back in 2017
- Introducing 2 new beautiful destinations: Morocco and Kenya
- Attending one of the biggest events in UAE: PHD Media's Brainscapes 2019
Our biggest challenge:
We had to say goodbye to our dear Brand Ambassadors as the one year program culminated to its bittersweet end. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank each of them for their valuable contributions in helping us have a broader reach into our GCC community (Jeddah, Riyadh, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain).
Most notably, as a result of the efforts of our ambassadors as well as a handful of our devoted past volunteers, we were able to host and pull off 9 unforgettable social gatherings across the GCC, each with a unique flare of its own while consistently maintaining the key elements that give our gatherings a personalized NomuHub feel to them. If you happened to have attended any one of these gatherings, you'd have a pretty good idea of what those elements are. We wouldn't want to spoil the surprise for the others but fret not, there are plenty of gatherings we are planing for 2020!
Our successful partnerships:
NomuHub in 2019 proudly collaborated with and hosted various customized trips for our special partners from across the GCC who believed in and shared a similar vision—traveling with a purpose and leaving, even if a small ounce, positive impact in the local community we visit. Each customized trip (to either of our destinations in either of the themes we offer) had its own unique end result, both for the participants as well as the members of the community as a whole.

We'd like to extend a gracious thank you to our partners for accompanying us in growing our vision and for entrusting us to provide them a memorable experience. Here's to more such successful collaborations in 2020!
2020, Here We Come!
It has been fun looking back on the highlights of our busy and adventurous 2019—what a special and nostalgic year it was for us indeed!
A genuine thank you to everyone who has been part of our 2019 journey; we most certainly would not have made it this far without each and every one of you.
Such wonderful stories and experiences only drive our team to aim higher and go farther in offering more distinctive programs for you that leave a more dynamic and lasting impact in the local communities of the destinations we visit.
We can't express enough how excited we are for this new year, and can't wait to share with you all that we have been cooking...
Cheers, farewell to 2019 and hello to an awesome 2020! Are you with us?
